Introducing the Peperu Series — built for performance and designed by champions. The Peperu paddle was crafted by Rete Ebb, renowned EDT Va’a steersman and 4-time Super Aito champion, then further refined by David Tepava, veteran steerer and coach of the legendary Shell Va’a team.
Their combined expertise results in a paddle that delivers exceptional precision, comfort, and responsiveness. Engineered for elite-level steering, the Peperu series provides the control and confidence demanded at the highest levels of competition — whether racing or training.
The blade is constructed from high-performance multiaxial carbon fiber and paired with your choice of a carbon or bamboo shaft. The bamboo shaft is slightly heavier than its carbon counterpart but offers superior impact resistance. Both options are stiff, durable, and built to perform in the toughest racing environments.
Choose Your Blade
Small Blade (24 × 54 cm)
Ideal for calm to moderately choppy waters. The shorter, wider blade emphasizes forward, angle, and draw strokes to control the canoe with less fatigue — perfect for experienced steerers and flatwater or small-ocean conditions.
Long Blade (23 × 58 cm)
Designed for heavy conditions and powerful steering. The longer, narrower blade provides greater leverage and command for steering correction, making it an excellent choice for new steerers or challenging ocean conditions.

The Not SoFine Print
Straight Talk · No SurprisesHow It Works
Customs are batch orders. Yours goes on the list the moment you check out; a few days after the deadline above we place the whole batch with Viper. From there it's built from zero — average wait from the deadline is about 4 months — and we email every update along the way.
Why $30 Off
You pay up front. That helps our cashflow and lets us order more often — so every custom sells at $30 under retail. You're not paying extra for made-to-order. You're paying less.
Cancellation
Customs can only be canceled before the batch is sent to Viper. We email you 3–5 days before placing it; you have 48 hours to pull out. No response counts as confirmation to proceed.
How ToOrder
Shaft Flex
A steering blade lives a rougher life than a paddle — it leans on the ama, bangs the gunwale, holds against pressure. Soft (100% bamboo) takes the knocks: more impact-resistant, springier, easier on your joints over a long day in the seat. Hard (100% carbon) is lighter and stiffer — corrections land the instant you ask.

Blade Size
Two steering cuts, both on Viper's Peperu 4° blade. Small — 24 × 54 cm (930 cm²): quicker to swing, easier corrections. Long — 23 × 58 cm (971 cm²): more face to lean on when the water gets big.

Paddle Length
Cut in half-inch steps, 38.5–54 inches. Not sure? Guess a touch long — a paddle can always come down, it can never grow back.

Eight moves, fifteen builders, one shed on Ra'iātea. Your blade is drawn, molded, laid up by hand, signed, and flown to SoCal — we wrote the whole story down.
