The Coach

Programmed ByCoach Phil

Lanakila keiki alongside Danny Ching. Coaching since 17. Oceanside men's program since 2012 — and Team USA coach for the Boys U16 and U19 divisions since 2025. Every session in this plan has a purpose, and you'll know what it is.

The Philosophy

How This Plan Trains

Endurance · Strength · Recovery

No bro-science. No junk miles. Every session in every plan has a purpose, and you'll know what it is.

01

Fundamentals First

Catch, posture, timing. Technique is what holds when the body wants to quit — so we build it before we build volume.

02

Evidence Over Ego

Zones, load, and recovery planned from the research — not the group chat. If it doesn't serve the goal, it's not in the plan.

03

The Crew Is The Engine

Six blades, one hull. In together, out together. Individual fitness serves the boat — not the mirror.

04

Keep The Joy

The sport gives more than it takes. Athletes who love the water outlast athletes who fear the clock.

Find Your ZonesZones first. Then reps.
